More of the Same — We Need a Game Changer

Writing hasn’t been easy these days. Not because there isn’t enough happening—quite the opposite. But it all feels like more of the same. Whether it is reprehensible, cowardly murders or the remarkable victories of our Blue Wave. Even the alarming inflation and the abnormal temperatures seem to be becoming something we are getting used to.

We need a game changer. Just like Curaçao’s substitutions against Costa Rica: after falling 3–0 behind, they still managed to turn the game around and secure a 4–3 victory. But what could be a game changer for us?

Of course, many will say: the government this, the government that. And of course, the government has its responsibilities. But simply waiting for the government is also more of the same.

I say: Be the change you want to see in the world. Join the Green Wave and help clean up the island. Improve your driving behavior. Support the food bank. Don’t underestimate your own power.

Change the world. Start with yourself.
